The HC-800 was designed to act as the processing and control center for compatible Control4 automation systems.

It can communicate with compatible equipment using Ethernet, Wi-Fi, ZigBee, infrared, RS-232 serial connections, relay outputs, and contact inputs.

ZigBee Pro

Built-in ZigBee Pro capability allows the HC-800 to communicate with compatible Control4 ZigBee devices such as lighting controls, keypads, remotes, and other supported automation equipment.

Infrared & Serial Control

Important Control4 OS Compatibility

The HC-800 is a legacy Control4 controller.

Control4 officially states that Control4 OS 3.3.0 is the final supported OS version for the HC-800. The controller cannot be upgraded to Control4 OS 3.3.1 or newer.

The HC-800 must be removed from a Control4 project before that project can be upgraded beyond OS 3.3.0.

Earlier OS 3 releases also removed the HC-800's legacy television on-screen Navigator functionality.

Professional Configuration Required

Control4 systems are professionally configured automation systems. This controller is not a plug-and-play consumer smart-home hub.

Installation, activation, project programming, software configuration, driver setup, and integration may require an authorized Control4 dealer or qualified Control4 programmer.
