Add Wireless Audio to an Existing System

The SoundTouch Wireless Link Adapter is designed to connect to an existing stereo, powered speaker, or home theater system and add wireless playback capability without replacing the entire audio system.

Bose recommends optical audio as the preferred connection when your audio system has a compatible optical input. A 3.5mm AUX connection or analog RCA connection can also be used.

Bluetooth Streaming

Stream audio directly from compatible Bluetooth smartphones, tablets, computers, and other devices.

The SoundTouch Wireless Link can store up to eight previously paired Bluetooth devices in its pairing list.

Wi-Fi & Local Network Functions

The adapter can connect to a compatible home Wi-Fi network for supported local SoundTouch functions, device setup, system configuration, compatible grouping, AirPlay, and Spotify Connect.

Some original SoundTouch cloud-based streaming features are no longer available. Please review the SoundTouch service information below before purchasing.

Spotify Connect

Spotify users can continue to select the SoundTouch Wireless Link directly from the Spotify app using Spotify Connect, where supported.

Wired AUX Input

A compatible smartphone, tablet, computer, or other audio source can also be connected to the adapter using a 3.5mm stereo cable and selected as the AUX source.

Flexible Audio Connections

The SoundTouch Wireless Link can connect to compatible audio equipment using:

• 3.5mm stereo audio
• Analog RCA audio using the appropriate adapter cable

Important SoundTouch Service Information

Bose discontinued SoundTouch cloud support on May 6, 2026.

The following original SoundTouch functions are no longer supported:

• Alexa voice commands
• SoundTouch cloud-based presets
• Browsing music services directly from the SoundTouch app
• Starting cloud music services directly from the SoundTouch app

Functions that continue to work where supported include:

• Bluetooth streaming
• AirPlay streaming
• Spotify Connect

• Local setup and configuration
• Basic local SoundTouch app controls
• Grouping compatible SoundTouch systems on the same local network

SoundTouch products no longer receive Bose security or firmware updates. Bose recommends using SoundTouch systems only on a secure, private network.
