Immersive 5.1 Surround Sound
The SoundTouch 520 uses four compact Direct/Reflecting Series II satellite speakers together with a dedicated center-channel speaker to create a complete 5.1-channel surround sound system.
The angled speaker design helps create a spacious listening experience while the center speaker focuses dialogue and other important on-screen audio toward the listening area.
Wireless Acoustimass Bass Module
The wireless Acoustimass module adds deep low-frequency performance for movies, music, sports, and games without requiring an audio cable between the bass module and the control console.
The wireless connection supports placement up to approximately 30 feet from the console under suitable conditions.
ADAPTiQ Audio Calibration
Bose ADAPTiQ technology analyzes the acoustics of your listening room and adjusts the system's sound for the room environment.
The ADAPTiQ calibration headset is included, allowing the buyer to perform the Bose room-calibration procedure during setup.

Important 4K & HDMI Compatibility Information
The SoundTouch 520 is a legacy home theater system and does not support HDCP 2.2. Because of this, many modern copy-protected 4K / UHD sources should not be routed through the SoundTouch 520 console.
For modern 4K, HDR, streaming, and UHD source devices, a better setup may be to connect the source directly to a compatible television and send television audio to the Bose system using HDMI ARC or optical audio.

- Starting cloud music services directly from the SoundTouch app
Functions that continue to work where supported include:
- Bluetooth streaming
- AirPlay streaming

- Basic local SoundTouch app controls
- Grouping compatible SoundTouch systems on the same local network
SoundTouch products no longer receive Bose security or firmware updates.
